APEX SERIES

APEX encompasses custom quartz resonators made at LTP using compound angle crystal cuts.

These currently include:

• True SC ( Stress Compensated cut ) Reference Temperature 95C
• Modified SC Reference Temperature 103C
• IT Cut Reference Temp 72C

 

CAPABILITIES

Measurement

LTP is able to measure compound angle co ordinates using the state of the art SC Goniometer made by EFG of Berlin. This enables us to sort and correct for a variety of desired angles without relying on expensive ready made blanks. Aging can be verified using the XOTEX System which outputs Frequency / Temperature and Resistance information.

Materials

We carry an extensive inventory of SC bar stock and also have good sources for ready cut blanks.

Fabrication

Most of the effort and therefore expense is incurred in the angle correction process. However after this has been completed, fabrication is very similar to AT Cut resonators. A great deal of care is taken to establish dense stable thin films on ultra clean quartz. For this purpose we use an automatic evaporator that has both heating and plasma cleaning built in.
